It was pretty much one-way one way traffic as the first half got into its swing in the pre-season friendly at Brisbane Road.A strong Spurs XI side - all 11 played 90 minutes - dictated the tempo and dominated possession from the off with the lead nearly seized on three minutes when a David Bentley free-kick was headed across the face of goal by Crouch.A few minutes later a devilish dipping ball from Niko Kranjcar deceived the defenders and ended up bouncing just wide of the upright, before a Steven Pienaar effort fizzed just wide.Kranjcar then crashed a shot against the crossbar after a Danny Rose cutback before the scoring was opened on 22 minutes. From a Bentley corner, Crouch launched into a stooping downward header that defeated ex-Spurs Academy goalkeeper Lee Butcher.Orient's first clear opening came when David Mooney was played through by Dean Cox but shot over from inside the area before Robbie Keane miscued at the other end after Crouch turned provider.Crouch was the star of the next big moment when he spun his marker some 25 yards out and proceeded to steer home with considerable power into the bottom right hand corner to make it 2-0 on 34 minutes.Orient did reduce the deficit four minutes before the break when Stephen Dawson found himself in the clear courtesy of substitute Jamie Cureton's first touch and calmly slotted past Carlo Cudicini.Keane shot wide after clever play from Pienaar before the striker executed an audacious overhead kick at the start of the second half following a deflected free-kick from Kranjcar.It was 3-1 on 50 minutes when a Danny Rose cross followed by a Crouch nod led to Scott Cuthbert diverting into his own net.
Twenty minutes later Kranjcar extended the advantage when a headed clearance from Matthew Grieve towards the edge of the area was thumped back with interest by the Croatian to make it 4-1.Crouch was denied a hat-trick in the closing stages by a goalline clearance from ex-Spur Charlie Daniels following a magnificent cross from Bentley.Team: Cudicini, Walker, Rose, Hutton, Bassong, Kranjcar, Palacios, Pienaar, Bentley, Keane, Crouch.
